First National Park In India

The first National Park established in India is Jim Corbett National Park, located in the state of Uttarakhand, in the northern part of the country.

It was established in 1936, initially known as Hailey National Park. It was later renamed Ramganga National Park in the mid-1950s and finally got its current name in honor of Jim Corbett, a famous British hunter-turned-conservationist, in the late 1950s.

The park is home to a diverse variety of flora and fauna, including over 500 species of birds, 25 reptile species, and around 50 mammal species.

The most famous among these is the Bengal tiger, with Corbett National Park being a famous tiger reserve in India.
